ASME SA 516 Grade 70N Plates are the high-tensile equivalent within the carbon steel pressure vessel family, offering a minimum tensile strength of 485 MPa. The "N" suffix signifies that these plates are supplied in the Normalized condition, a critical heat treatment that ensures a uniform fine-grain structure. This process significantly improves the steel's toughness and impact resistance, making it the industry standard for high-pressure boilers and vessels that must operate safely under fluctuating thermal conditions.

Engineered for maximum reliability in "Sour Service" environments, our SA 516 GR.70N plates are fully compliant with NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156 and NACE MR0103. To combat the hazardous effects of wet $H_{2}S$ exposure, these plates undergo Hydrogen-Induced Cracking (HIC) testing as per NACE TM0284, ensuring they are resistant to stepwise cracking and blistering. With additional Vacuum Degassing and low-sulfur processing, these plates provide the structural integrity required for heavy-wall thickness applications in oil refineries, gas processing plants, and petrochemical storage systems.
