Nickel 201 (UNS N02201) Plates are the low-carbon modification of Nickel 200, specifically engineered for applications where exposure to temperatures exceeding 315°C (600°F) is required. Produced under the ASTM B162 specification, Nickel 201 limits carbon content to a maximum of 0.02%. This critical adjustment prevents the formation of intergranular graphite (graphitization) at elevated temperatures, which would otherwise lead to severe embrittlement and material failure in standard nickel grades. As a commercially pure wrought alloy, it retains the exceptional corrosion resistance of its counterpart while providing enhanced thermal stability up to 600°C (1100°F).
