SA 516 GR.60N NACE + HIC Plates are specialized pressure vessel steels engineered for the most volatile "Wet $H_{2}S$" environments. While standard Grade 60 provides excellent notch toughness through normalization, the addition of HIC (Hydrogen-Induced Cracking) resistance ensures the material can withstand the internal pressure caused by hydrogen atom recombination. These plates are manufactured using a Clean Steel Practice, involving ultra-low sulfur content and calcium treatment for inclusion shape control, which prevents the formation of elongated manganese sulfides that typically serve as initiation sites for cracking.

To guarantee performance in sour service, our plates are tested in accordance with NACE TM0284. This involves rigorous immersion testing where the material's resistance is quantified through Crack Length Ratio (CLR), Crack Thickness Ratio (CTR), and Crack Sensitivity Ratio (CSR) reporting. Compliant with both NACE MR0175 and MR0103, these plates are essential for critical infrastructure in the petrochemical and gas industries, such as amine absorbers, gas scrubbers, and flare drums, where preventing catastrophic brittle failure is the highest priority.
