ASME SA387 Grade 9 Plates are high-alloy Chromium-Molybdenum steel plates designed for exceptional performance in severe high-temperature environments. Containing a nominal 9% Chromium and 1% Molybdenum, this grade offers the highest level of corrosion and oxidation resistance within the standard SA387 series. These plates are engineered to maintain their mechanical integrity in the most demanding sections of power generation plants and petrochemical refineries, where equipment is subjected to aggressive chemical process streams and sustained thermal loads that would compromise lower-alloy materials.

The technical superiority of ASME SA387 Gr.9 is particularly evident in its resistance to steam oxidation and high-temperature sulfidation. Available in Class 1 and Class 2, it provides designers the choice between maximum ductility and enhanced tensile strength. Class 2, specifically, is heat-treated to provide higher allowable design stresses, making it ideal for high-pressure separators, heat exchangers, and reaction vessels. Its robust chemical profile makes it a preferred material for advanced boiler applications and nuclear power components.
