254 SMO Flanges are manufactured from a high-alloy austenitic stainless steel, often referred to as a "6-moly" grade due to its 6% molybdenum content. Designated as UNS S31254, this material is specifically designed for use in halide-containing environments, such as brackish water, seawater, and pulp mill bleach plants. Within the industrial landscape of Saudi Arabia, these flanges serve as a superior alternative to conventional austenitic steels, offering a high Pitting Resistance Equivalent Number (PREN ≥ 42.5) that ensures long-term integrity in the Kingdom’s aggressive coastal and offshore conditions.
Our 254 SMO weld neck, slip-on, blind, and threaded flanges are forged under the ASTM A182 standard to provide exceptional impact toughness and resistance to crevice corrosion. The combination of high levels of chromium, molybdenum, and nitrogen allows these flanges to withstand stress corrosion cracking while maintaining excellent weldability. Extensively used in desalination facilities, chemical processing plants, and oil and gas scrubbers, these 6-moly flanges provide the high-performance durability required for critical infrastructure in high-chloride environments.
