Alloy 31 Pipe (UNS N08031) is a high-performance super-austenitic stainless steel featuring a high content of nickel, chromium, and molybdenum enhanced with nitrogen. It is exceptionally suitable for the transmission of highly corrosive media, including phosphoric acid, sulfuric acid, and chloride-rich solutions. With a PREN (Pitting Resistance Equivalent Number) of ≥ 48, Alloy 31 offers superior resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion compared to traditional 300-series grades. These pipes are extensively used in chemical processing, pulp and paper, and offshore industries, particularly in harsh Saudi Arabian environmental conditions where resistance to seawater and aggressive chemicals is paramount.
